Suitable Background Color for ROBUSKEY

Here are the samples of suitable / unsuitable background color:

Green Backgrounds Blue Backgrounds
Most Suitable HSB color system
[ H=100°, S=60%, B=75% ]
HSB color system
[ H=200°, S=60%, B=75% ]
ROBUSKEY performs its best with these background color or similar.
Unsuitable (Saturation) HSB color system
[ S ≤ 40% ]
HSB color system
[ S ≤ 40% ]
Extraction precision will decrease at edges like strand of hair.
Unsuitable (Brightness) HSB color system
[ B ≤ 50% ]
HSB color system
[ B ≤ 65% ]
HSB color system
[ B ≥ 90% ]
HSB color system
[ B ≥ 90% ]
Increased noise will degrade the overall extraction accuracy.
Other Unsuitable Color Some yellow

HSB color system is, expresses color by H(Hue), S(Saturation) and B(Brightness). You can see these values at "information window" of Photoshop. See Photoshop manual for detail.

The Basic Operation

Here describes ROBUSKEY® for Video's screen instruction and basic operation. For Further Information and Tips, see ROBUSKEY® for Video Website.

How to Chroma Keying with ROBUSKEY

Examples described here is for After Effects. Basic operation is the same for Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and EDIUS.

Auto Mask Correction: Clip Alpha after Chroma Keying

† After Effects and EDIUS supports Clip Alpha. Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro users are not able to use this feature.

Using "Clip Alpha" after Chroma-Keying with ROBUSKEY, matte (alpha channel) will automatically be adjusted. It is useful on fine-tuning for deleting unwilling background.

Auto Mask Maker: Clip Alpha before Chroma Keying

† Only After Effects supports Auto Mask Maker on Clip Alpha. Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and EDIUS users are not able to use this feature.

By applying "Mask Maker" of Clip Alpha, prior to ROBUSKEY image synthesis, a mask hiding unwilling objects will automatically generated.
